Frontier Space receive investment for in-space pharma

Congratulations to Frontier Space in Nottingham, who have received support under the National Space Innovation, International Bilateral Fund and Accelerator programmes to advance UK space biotech capabilities.

Frontier is turning microgravity science into a real manufacturing advantage for pharma. Many cancer drugs can’t be made into a simple injection because Earth-grown protein crystals are too thick for a needle. Grown in space, they’re pure enough to work. The team, spun out of Cranfield University, has already flown two missions in nine months, secured big pharma partnerships, and landed significant ESA and venture capital funding.
