Midlands Companies Selected for Prestigious UK Space Agency Accelerator

Congratulations to Aegion and Vertinetik on being selected for the latest cohort of the UK Space Agency Accelerator’s LEO programme. LEO is a highly competitive accelerator designed for space ventures that have already validated their technology or business concept and are now focused on building commercial traction, refining their growth strategy and preparing to scale.

Over four months, participants receive tailored support from industry experts covering areas such as business development, investment readiness, intellectual property, export growth and leadership development. The programme has helped numerous UK space companies accelerate commercialisation, attract investment and strengthen their position within the rapidly growing space sector.

Aegion is an advanced materials company based at Space Park Leicester and supported by the European Space Agency BIC, developing and qualifying next-generation metallurgical materials – such as titanium aluminides and nickel-based superalloys – engineered through lattice-level thermomechanical processing to withstand extreme space conditions for applications in propulsion, satellites, deep-space missions, and space energy systems.

Vertinetik builds Erdo, a geospatial AI platform that converts satellite, aerial and drone data into environmental intelligence for tree, land condition, biodiversity and habitat assessment, enabling landowners, councils and developers to replace manual GIS workflows with scalable, traceable, audit-ready monitoring and reporting for planning and compliance.

In case you missed it..
